Project Funding: The City of Delray Beach was awarded a federally funded grant by the Transportation Planning Agency of Palm Beach County (TPA) under its Local Initiatives Program to improve Lindell Boulevard/SW 10th Avenue from Linton Boulevard to Lindell Boulevard and Lindell Boulevard from SW 10th Avenue to west of FEC crossing at Dixie Highway with a focus on (Americans with Disabilities Act) ADA pedestrian improvements, bicycle facilities accommodation and complete streets.
Scope of Work:
Project improvements include roadway widening and reconstruction, milling and resurfacing, drainage improvements, constructing a ten-foot shared-use path on the west side of the roadway and a 6-foot sidewalk on the east side, driveway reconstruction, installation of speed tables, bus shelters and pads, replacing guardrail and installing lighting infrastructure along the newly constructed sidewalks.
The current roadway consists of two 11’ travel lanes with a swale on either side. 6’ sidewalks run intermittently along the corridor, with little connectivity throughout the project limits. The project is a Complete Streets project and is intended to improve environment for all road users, including motorists, cyclists, pedestrians, and individuals with disabilities.
